Sunday: Nantes vs Montpellier (13:00 GMT)
Nantes can put a dent in Montpellier’s quest for safety this Sunday as the two teams meet at the Stade de la Beaujoire. The hosts currently sit comfortably in mid-table, with no concerns of relegation or any realistic hope of finishing in the top six, but manager Michel Der Zakarian will be concerned about their current form, as they have lost each of their last three league outings.
Montpellier, however, have it all to play for. The visitors sit dangerously close to the drop zone, just three points above 17th-placed Gazelec Ajaccio, so desperately could do with a win this weekend. They too, though, are in bad form, having failed to win any of their last five league games.
Earlier this season, Montpellier beat Nantes 2-1 at the Stade de la Mosson.
Sunday: Rennes vs Guingamp (16:00 GMT)
Rennes continue their fight to qualify for European qualification as they welcome Guingamp to Roazhon Park on Sunday. The hosts fell to a damaging 3-0 defeat away at fellow European contenders Nice last weekend, so will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend. In such an extremely tight race, Rennes can ill afford many more slip-ups if they are to play in Europe next season.
Guingamp, on the other hand, are more concerned with staying in the top flight. The visitors currently sit 15th in the table, five points clear of the bottom three, but still require a few more points before they can truly take their position in Ligue 1 for granted. They too head into this match on the back of a defeat; 2-0 at home to champions PSG last weekend.
Earlier this season, Rennes beat Guingamp 2-0 at the Stade de Roudourou.
Sunday: Monaco vs Marseille (20:00 GMT)
Two of Ligue 1’s biggest names clash on Sunday evening as Monaco battle Marseille at the Stade Louis II. Monaco’s fight for a top two finish has faltered massively in the last few weeks, with Leonardo Jardim’s men winning only one of their last six in the league. As a result, Lyon currently sit ahead of them in the rankings, but Monaco will reclaim second place with a win.
Marseille, meanwhile, will be out to claim a positive result in what has been a terrible season. They have failed to win any of their last nine league outings and currently sit just six points above the bottom three. They are unlikely to be dragged into any real danger with just five games to go, but a win this weekend would let Marseille fans sleep just that little bit easier.
Earlier this season, these two teams contested a 3-3 draw at the Stade Velodrome.
