WWE took some not-so-subtle jabs at The Bullet Club and AEW during the Hall of Fame ceremony on April 6.
Both instances unsurprisingly came during D-Generation X’s HOF induction speech. WWE’s Twitter account posted a pic of Triple H throwing up the “Too Sweet” hand gesture, with the caption “often imitated, never duplicated.” This was obviously a shot at The Bullet Club, pro wrestling’s most famous faction of the modern era.

The Bullet Club use the hand gesture as well, in homage to The nWo and the Kliq of Hunter, Shawn Michaels, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and X-Pac.
The second slam of the night came when Triple H warned Billy Gunn that Vince McMahon would “buy that pi**ant company just to fire you again.” The company in question is AEW, the new venture founded by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.
Gunn was recently announced as a producer for AEW but was of course still allowed to attend the Hall of Fame event.
Both instances were surely done with a very tongue-in-cheek vibe. But it’s just another example of friendly fire taking place between WWE and everyone else in the pro wrestling industry.
