Winter Bag Trends: Puffy Quilting! Love the Marc Jacobs Crosby Quilt Tote

When I think of winter trends, I think of jewel tones and animal prints. But the truth is, these so-called winter trends always resurface again and again. But I came across something a little different today. I don’t know if I can call it a true winter trend, but it sort of reminds me of a puffy down coat. If a light bulb just went off in your head, then you know what I am talking about here. Yep, quite a few handbags with large and puffy quilted patterns have been surfacing. One that particularly caught my eye is the one you see here. Meet the Marc by Marc Jacobs Crosby Quilt Tote!

I chose to highlight this particular handbag because I feel it represents the trend beautifully. Just look at the quilted pattern! From a distance, it looks like a regular diamond pattern. But when you look more closely, you see it is more of an overlapping chevron pattern. The spacing between the rows of stitching is very wide. This translates to big puffy squares. And yes, it looks almost cozy enough to wear! I think this trend looks best on nylon, like you see here on the Marc by Marc Jacobs Crosby Quilt Small Tote. But I have also seen some leather styles out there with equally impressive quilted patterns.
