Germany achieved second vicory in World Grand Prix, overcoming Poland 3-0. In second match Japan beats Kazakhstan 3-1.

In first two sets Germany dominated games by strong serves, hard spikes and better block. Polish reception in first set wasn’t so bad, but in second it became disastrous. After two sets we have 10 minutes break, what at first didn’t help Poles, but it changed significantly. Good substitute by opposite Katarzyna Konieczna and serves by outside hitter Ewelina Sieczka helped the team, but only a bit. Again main spiker was outside hitter Katarzyna Skowrońska-Dolata. Though it wasn’t her best game, she was still better than her teammates. In third set also block started working better in Polish team, but it wasn’t enough for good working German team. All German wing-spikers: Margareta Kozuch, Maren Brinker and Heike Beier had good performances. Again without team stats (statisticians there are seriouslt too strict): according to them both teams had no reception (0%)!

Japan slighted a bit opponent with “combined line-up” – on court were nominal two receivers, both opposite Miyu Nagaoka and outside hitter Yukiko Ebata don’t receive. Kazakh team thanks to stron spikes by opposite Tatyana Mudritskaya and good defense kept leading all set long. In next sets Japan was more concentrated. On court appear outside hitters Risa Shinnabe and Saori Kimura with whom game looked better. Seter Haruka Miyashita calmed Japanese game. Kazakh team had less dangerous serves and struggled in reception. Stats in Płock for me are unreliable, so I resigned again from team stats (Kazakhstan with 0% on reception, Japan with quite good reception got from FIVB only 21%).
