Western Inspired Ash Talulla Drawstring Bag

When I first saw the Ash Talulla Bag you see here, I had no idea it was by the contemporary designer Ash. Established in Europe in 2000 by designer Patrick Ithier, Ash is known for its funky and fun style. In fact, many of the bags I have seen from this designer have almost a punk rocker feel to them. Think multiple chains, piercings, studs and snakeskin embossing. So you can probably imagine my surprise when the Ash Talulla Drawstring Bag popped up on the virtual shelves at Shopbop. Take a look!

Here we have a bag with fringe and southwestern-inspired beading. The Ash Talulla looks nothing like any of the other bags by this designer that I have seen in the past. But that does not mean I don’t think this piece is adorable… because it is! I love the twin rows of fringe and how the brightly colored beads pop against the black background. I also like the convenience of the drawstring and magnetic closure combination (i.e. you get the look of a drawstring without the hassle). The cross body styling is also convenient, making it perfect for those hands-free occasions. I see this bag pairing well with black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt, for a casual, yet funky look.
