Some of those reports stated that Ric was in serious condition and even brain dead. But now Flair’s wife, Wendy Barlow, has released a statement concerning her husband’s health.

“Due to ongoing health complications, Ric was taken to the hospital and is expected to undergo a procedure tomorrow morning, after which he expects to fully recover.”

TMZ reported this news, which came only hours after pro wrestling podcaster Conrad Thompson, who is also Flair’s son-in-law, commented on the situation as well.

“I think TMZ may have gotten a little bit of the story inaccurately. This was not a last minute surprise surgery to family. I knew that he was going to be having a procedure done today. I don’t think it’s nearly as grave or serious as TMZ would have us believe. Ric’s in good spirits about it, knew it was happening,”

Thompson went on to say that Ric wanted to have this procedure done before Starrcast in Las Vegas The weeknd of May 23. The Nature Boy wanted to ensure that he felt better and wanted to be ready to go at the star-studded event that takes place during AEW’s Double or Nothing event on May 25.
