Update on Bellas & Adam Cole, Former GFW Star Backstage for WWE

WWE recently held a live event for the Raw brand over in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The show took place on July 22nd, and it was headlined by a match featuring Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. It appears that none other than the recently departed GFW producer Shane “Hurricane” Helms was backstage for the event. Helms confirmed that he was backstage for the event through social media and he congratulated the roster for the show that they put on. Helms was recently let go from a producer role in GFW. It’s unknown why exactly Helms was backstage for the event, but he does live in the state and he is also very good friends with Raw superstars Matt and Jeff Hardy.
In other news, Nikki Bella was recently speaking to fans during a panel discussion at the San Diego Comic Con this weekend. The superstar has not been seen on television ever since John Cena proposed marriage to her after their Wrestlemania win back in April. She cited a neck injury as the main reason why she has not yet returned to the company, She said the following with regards to her injury: “We found out it’s not fully fused and I kind of have a herniation above where I had surgery but I think with time could heal hopefully, so I’m trying to do whatever I can.” She later promised that both she and her sister Brie are looking to return to the ring sometime in 2018.
Another update has been given for Adam Cole’s inevitable debut for WWE. While the debut is said to be taking place very soon, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that two questions are being asked first. The first one is where to put him. It seems likely that he would go to NXT, but the company believes that he’s enough of a star to bypass the system. Another issue allegedly relates to what his name will be. Some famous independent stars have gotten to keep their names in recent years, but WWE is supposedly cautious with Cole as the company already has Raw announcer Michael Cole. Either way, get ready to still see Cole in a WWE ring sometime soon.
