TWO SOUTH AFRICAN rugby union players have tested positive for banned substances during routine testing.
The South African Institute for Drug Free Sport (SAIDS) informed the South African Rugby Union (SARU) of the failed tests this week.
SAIDS Chief Executive Khalid Galant told Supersport.com’s Brendan Nel that the duo, who have not been named, were plying their trade under two different unions and have been informed of the irregularities in their tests. They now have the option of requesting a ‘B’ sample.
Galant told Supersport: “In some cases players accept the findings and do not contest them, so as to have their suspension begin as soon as possible.”
