Bottega Veneta has always been a designer I admired. But lately, it seems as though they have been stuck in a bit of a rut. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love their signature intrecciato leather. And to think, it may never have become such a huge part of the Bottega Veneta name had they been equipped with sewing machines capable of sewing leather when the company first started making accessories in the 1960s. Instead, they developed the weaving technique so they could use thinner pieces of leather. Even though intrecciato is their “claim to fame”, that doesn’t mean Bottega Veneta shouldn’t mix things up every once in awhile. And, interestingly, they found a way to do that while still staying true to who they are. Check out the Bottega Veneta Nappa Ayers Glimmer Knot Clutch!
Now this is going to sound really strange, but the first thing that popped into my head was a popular British TV show. Wait, what? The so-called slash inset of python reminds me of that episode of Doctor Who where The Doctor first meets Amy Pond and there is a mysterious crack in her wall. Do you see it?! No? Okay, I guess now everyone knows what I geek I am. Well anyway, there is no denying that this is one unique-looking piece. I love the mix of textures and the baby blue isn’t too bad either!
