The government’s Swachhta survey across 355 districts in rural areas will identify what share of toilets have got water supply or whether water is available for use in the toilets.
The drinking water and sanitation ministry has engaged independent national level monitors to carry out this exercise. The questionnaire prepared by the drinking water and sanitation ministry mentions that the persons visiting villages and taking people’s feedback will “observe evidence of water availability in the household”.
