I am head over heels in love with Saint Laurent’s star motif! The tiny star-shaped studs that have cropped up on various styles recently are just too adorable. They have this great rock ‘n’ rock vibe to them without being too over the top. But Saint Laurent has been experimenting on some of the pieces with a star motif. One piece in particular really caught my eye though. Introducing the Saint Laurent Monogramme Bourse Beaded Bag!
This is a very different look for this designer. I never really thought of Saint Laurent as frilly, but this Monogramme Bourse Beaded Bag is definitely a little bit on the frilly side. Take a look at that beaded fringe! Wow, the detail is actually quite exquisite when you think about it. Each strand consists of dozens of black seed beads and, for the pattern, silver rod beads perfectly align with the surrounding strands to create the star shapes. The top is trimmed with leather, which gives it a tailored finish. But what I find most intriguing is the rope drawstring closure. Most drawstrings I see are made of leather, this is the first rope one I have seen in some time. In a way, this bag feels very much like evening wear. Not necessarily black tie evening wear, but I think the Saint Laurent Monogramme Bourse Beaded Bag would pair nicely with a black dress and some other rocker-chic pieces.
