Stella McCartney Alpaca & Wool Chunky Knit Sweater Bag

I know it is hard to believe, but the fall season is just around the corner. It seems like summer has just begun. I imagine that is because it hasn’t been a terribly hot summer. But still… when I see all the sweaters lining the racks at my favorite department store, I just can’t bring myself to look at them. Sooner or later though, I will have to come to terms with the end of summer. The air will become cooler, the leaves will begin to change, and cozy sweaters will be a welcome sight. There is nothing like a cozy sweater during those colder months, but what about a handbag that is just as cozy? Yep, you heard right. Take a look at the Stella McCartney Chunky Knit Sweater Bag!

As most of you know, Stella McCartney is an advocate for animal rights. She doesn’t use leather or fur in any of her designs. But you still might be asking why a sweater was transformed into a handbag. The answer to that question is actually a simple one. Let’s face it, faux leather can be a hard sell when it comes to handbags. So sometimes, you have to get a little more creative with your animal-friendly designs. You know, think beyond faux leather. And it seems a bag made of yarn is just what this designer needed to freshen her look. Now I can’t say I like the runway look (matching sweater and handbag). However, this lovely piece would definitely pair nicely with some jeans for a casual look.

Retails for $610. Check it out over on MyTheresa!
