ORLANDO, FL — An “immersive” Star Wars hotel will be landing at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida at a time and galaxy not too far, far away. The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel promises “a view of space” from every window though the amusement park giant plans to release more details next week ahead of Thursday’s grand opening of the Sunshine State’s version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
“Families visiting the new Star Wars-inspired hotel coming to Walt Disney World Resort will board a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold during their voyage through the galaxy — and every window has a view of space,” said Disney officials. “The resort will be seamlessly connected to the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, allowing guests a complete Star Wars experience.”

Exactly when the hotel will open in Florida will be revealed on Tuesday, according to a Walt Disney World spokesperson. The spokesperson also promised to release more details on the planned amenities at that time.
In addition to the name, we also know that the Star Wars resort hotel will be a “multi-day, fully immersive adventure” that will take guests aboard a luxury starship “with all the features expected of a first-class hotel, including dining, recreation, and accommodations, all authentic to the Star Wars universe.”
Open since May 31 in California, Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been named one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places 2019. Time said that Disney guests “don’t simply mingle with their favorite characters, they live among them while customizing their own droids at the Droid Depot … and visiting Oga’s Cantina, Disneyland’s first public watering hole serving alcoholic space brews and ‘blue milk.'”
The Florida land will blast off with a number of immersive experiences to explore on the remote planet of Batuu, including a chance to board the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which has already celebrated its one millionth crew member in California.
“As we countdown to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort on Aug. 29, we look forward to giving even more of our guests the opportunity to explore the experience-based storytelling of this one-of-a-kind land,” Disney officials added.
