FOREST CITY, Iowa – The St. Olaf wrestling team defeated the Waldorf Warriors 25-6, winning seven of the nine wrestled matches on Tuesday and improving their dual match record to 2-3 overall.
After a double forfeit at 125 pounds, St. Olaf won the next six matches and put the victory out of Waldorf’s reach before the 184 pound match even started.
Bumping up to the 133 pound weight class, Wesley Azariah (Fy) used multiple takedowns to overcome his opponent and win 8-3. At 141 pounds, Adam Woitalla (Fy) overcame the flu which prevented him from competing this weekend and came away with a 3-2 victory over Dillon Spates.

Captain Thomas Mork (Sr) continued the Ole domination with a 7-4 victory at 149 pounds after a last second takedown. Fellow captain Jake Bohler (Sr) managed a 7-4 decision over Waldorf captain Bryce Robbins in the 157 pound weight class.
At 165 pounds, first-year Hugh Ellerman earned a 9-1 major decision victory after riding his opponent for nearly the entire match. James Roach (Jr) made quick work of his opponent at 174 pounds, pinning Anthony Pike in 54 seconds with his “money” cradle and putting the match out of reach with a team score of 22-0.
Mike Spellman (Fy), in his first dual experience of the season, lost a tough 7-0 decision to James Gomez at 184. Fellow freshman Ryan Williamson dropped a 5-3 decision despite a late third period flurry of shots. In the only overtime match of the night, heavyweight Zach Gibson (Fy) outlasted his opponent and got a takedown in the first overtime for a 3-1 victory and a final team score of 25-6.
The Oles next compete this Friday at a home match against Rochester Community and Technical College.
