Kotur has created some very unusual and even quirky pieces over the years. With the brand turning 10 this year, I thought it would be fun to highlight a piece from the Spring 2015 collection. At first, I found it difficult to choose just one. But I finally settled on the Shopbop exclusive you see here because it is a pouch, rather than Kotur’s signature minaudiere. Meet the Kotur Exclusive Espey Billy Pouch!
This piece is part of the manicure series, which features a slender hand illustration gripping the clutch both front and back. The hand also features a ring (or rings) on every single finger, including the thumb on the backside. The rings range from serpents to gemstones. This gives the design a very eclectic look and feel, something I have always admired about Kotur. Even more striking, however, is the black and white sunburst-like pattern and contrasting red zipper pull. The satin fabric makes this clutch lean more toward evening wear, but I don’t think a fancy gown is required. It would look lovely paired with sleek black pants and a dressy top as well. And the price is nice too! Normally Kotur clutches retail for $300 or more. The Billy Pouch is less than $200.
