Taylor mentioned two World TV title records and also announced his intention of breaking them both. Those records currently belong to Jay Lethal, who held the TV Championship for a record of 567 days and defended it successfully on 35 different occasions.
Shane won the title on May 11 during Ring of Honor’s War of the Worlds Tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Taylor shocked the world when he won a Four Way match which included Brody King, Jeff Cobb and Hirooki Goto, to become the new TV champion.
Taylor has been a featured star in ROH recently, thanks to his work in the ring and on the mic, as well as his association with Bully Ray and Silas Young. Taylor will face a huge test as champion when he defends the title in a huge match against Bandido at ROH’s Best in the World event on Friday, June 28 in Baltimore.
