I don’t know much about Sara Battaglia and the official website does not offer up much background information about the handbag designer. She is fairly young and her handbag collection was only launched 5 short years ago. Her bag designs are inspired by pop culture and, of course, her creative family. According to her bio, her older brother was an art dealer, her sister is a fashion editor, her younger brother is a prop stylist and her mother was/is a sculptor. How could she not find inspiration when surrounded with so much artistic talent? But this is where the trail runs cold.
I really don’t know much more about her, except she creates some of the most exquisite handbags I have seen. And the fact that she seems partial to fringe and tassels doesn’t hurt either! Perhaps that is what first drew me in with the Sara Battaglia Fringe Tote. I love the fringe hanging down from the handle bases. I also love the buttery smooth leather and the otherwise simple design. This would make an excellent bag for work or everyday. And the price isn’t too bad either!
