Rennes considering Fenerbahçe’s Kim Min-Jae (25) after Aguerd departure

According to Foot Mercato Stade Rennais are looking to strengthen their defence with the signing of Fernabahçe centre-back Kim Min-Jae in order to bolster their defence after the departure pf Aguerd to West Ham United. The Turkish side want €20m for the player, who is under contract until June 2025.

The Bretons are reportedly keen to sign several quality replacements to fill the Aguerd hole in defence – and are interested in the 40-capped South Korean international. Min-Jae impressed last season in Turkey, making 30 appearances and scoring 1 goal.

He is reportedly of interest to technical director Florian Maurice’s recruitment team and manager Bruno Génésio – who is familiar with Min-Jae from their time together at Beijing Guoan.

However, Rennes will find it hard to get this transfer over the line with a pricey €20m valuation given by Fernabahçe. The Bretons also face stiff competition from Napoli – who are hoping to replace Kalidou Koulibaly (30), as well as Premier League side Brighton and Liga Portugal’s Benfica.
