Reims in talks with Chelsea for Baba Rahman

Ligue 1 new-boys Reims are seeking to pull off a second major January window coup following the weekend signing of Arber Zeneli from Heerenveen.

As indicated by Foot Mercato and Goal France, SDR are in active negotiations with Premier League side Chelsea to sign Ghanaian international left-back Baba Rahman on loan without an option to buy until the end of the season.

Talks are ongoing, and centre around wage contributions to be made by the French club.

Since last January, the 24-year-old has been on loan with Bundesliga club Schalke 04 but the German club have made it clear that they are willing to terminate the deal. The omens appear good for this deal to happen, with certain sources even indicate that Rahman is due in France to finalise terms regarding the loan.

If talks fall through for the Chelsea man, Reims will move back to Seattle Sounders full-back Nouhou Tolo, who represents their fall-back option and is an individual who they have been making early headway with in terms of discussions.
