Ever since Reed Krakoff launched his eponymous label, I have not been able to take my eyes off of his designs. His handbags never fail to make me drool. But who wouldn’t fall in love with those structured shapes and classic styles? He set out to reinvent classic American style and he accomplished it! This is why I was a little confused when I stumbled across the Reed Krakoff Falcon Atlantique Bag. Just take a look and you will see what I mean!
This bag is so unlike any Reed Krakoff design I have seen up until this point. Most of his bags are solid colored leather, although a few color-blocked pieces were sprinkled in there. This bag, however, isn’t leather. It is actually canvas. Okay, not that unusual. A lot of designers will make a canvas bag here and there. What struck me as odd was the print found on the canvas. The description says “falcon print”. It took me a minute to see it, the print is actually a zoomed-in view of a falcon’s feathers. This is very unusual, especially from what I would normally expect from this designer. I’m not really sure how to feel about it. I suppose I would need to see it in person to really know. For now, I think I’ll stick to admiring Reed Krakoff’s solid leather pieces.
