Ever since I was mugged a couple months back and some guy tried to steal my handbag, it slightly changed my style and preference when it comes to bags. Now-a-days when I shop for a new purse, the first thing I ask is, is the strap long enough to be worn as a cross-body? I know the chances of being mugged twice in your own neighborhood are pretty slim (knock on wood), but for now, especially when I walk alone, this is the style I prefer. Also a tip: don’t walk with your phone in your hand. Luckily that time, they only ran off with my phone, and not my Chanel Cerf (and iPad, marc jacobs wallet, minkoff pouches, mcqueen scarf, etc and etc)
