L’Équipe this morning echo Portuguese media outlet speculation that Rennes are facing an onslaught from Champions’ League qualified FC Porto for 22-year-old versatile attacking midfield talent James Léa-Siliki.
The Frenchman is understood to be convinced about a move to FCP and has already agreed broad brush contract terms with Sergio Conceição’s outfit.
The Portuguese side has informed Rennes President Létang that they are willing to offer more than €6m to land the player, which he has not responded favourably to.
Watford have also made their interest known and whilst the player does one day want to experience the Premier League, he has made it clear that the Hornets’ project is not his priority.
Rennes have not abandoned the idea of trying to get the youngster to sign a contract extension.
