Olympia Le-Tan never ceases to amaze me. If she isn’t creating gorgeous, hand embroidered clutches resembling classic works of literature (and they ARE gorgeous!), then she is creating unique and playful pieces that are sure to make just about anyone smile. Well, the piece you see here is the latter of the two. Meet the Olympia Le-Tan Chalk Box Embroidered Bag!
First things first, take a look at those colorful beads making up the shoulder strap! They are pastel colors, presumably in an attempt to mimic sidewalk chalk. But when I look at them, they remind me of something else. They remind me of those snap beads I used to have when I was a kid. How delightfully whimsical is that? But there is more to this bag than the cute strap. The design is meant to resemble a box of chalk. The hand embroidery and felt decorations give this bag a very crafty look, which I find myself oddly attracted to. I love how it says “Super Quality Crayon Chalk” and “16 Assorted Colors”. It takes on characteristics of a box of chalk without looking too “real”. But I think that is the beauty of this piece. It is playful and fun, with a touch of whimsy. You don’t have to be serious when carrying this bag!
