Olivier Rousteing Just Dropped Photos of His Ballet Costumes for the Paris Opera

Basically every stylish star known to man—Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, and nearly all of the Kar-Jenner clan—has walked down the red carpet in one of Olivier Rousteing’s designs for Balmain. But the fashion designer is setting his sights on a completely new group of men and women, continuing fashion’s longstanding relationship with ballet.

The Balmain creative director has crafted a set of fashion-forward costumes for the iconic Paris Opéra Ballet. And, as you might imagine, the dazzling frocks contain all sorts of shimmer and sparkle. While the new designs will have their official showcase at choreographer Sébastien Bertaud’s new show—aptly and exquisitely titled, Renaissance—Rousteing took to Instagram to give us a first look at the designs on Wednesday morning.

Just a few weeks ago, Bertaud shared a picture of himself with Rousteing: both were chicly clad in Balmain black blazers, of course. In the post, he announced that his new ballet—which debuts on June 13th at Palais Garnier—would feature costumes by the design wunderkind. “Our ambition is to create a classical ballet for today, so the idea was to continue the unique tradition of ‘Ecole Française de danse’ while looking to the future,” he captioned the photo. “For me, Olivier was the only person today who shares the same approach of innovating while respecting traditional techniques.”

Does it honestly get more beautiful than this?

We’re seriously thinking of booking a plane ticket to Paris right now! Tickets are still up for grabs on Paris Opéra’s website, so if you’ll be in town for the ballet, you won’t want to miss it.
