Okada vs. Omega IV, WWE UK Division Update, Lashley Not Released

Perhaps one of the best rivalries of the modern pro wrestling era is the one between New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada. The two wrestlers have fought each other three times in the past with each one of their matches instantly cited as all time classics. This makes NJPW’s Dominion main event even more exciting as it has just been announced that Omega and Okada will clash once again in a 2 out of 3 falls match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship during the show. Omega has never been able to defeat Okada in any of their matches, but he is definitely looking to change that statistic soon. The Dominion event will be taking place on June 9th.

I have a little over a month to build the version of myself that can beat you. I understand the sacrifices and know what must be done, so now it’s time to train and never look back. #OmegaOkadaIV #NJDominion #NJPWDominion #NJPW

When WWE created a United Kingdom Championship tournament to crown the first-ever UK Champion last year, it seemed rather obvious that their next goal was to create a weekly series that would take place in the country. Little information has been provided on the UK division ever since, but WWE has announced that another tournament will be taking place this summer. Triple H has now told The Daily Mirror that more information on the future of the UK title and division will be revealed when the tournament takes place at the Royal Albert Hall next month. Triple H stated that the original goal definitely still remains alive after making the following statements: “That brand still remains very near and dear to me and it’s something I want to move on. It’s taking a little bit longer than I anticipated in getting things done and getting them done in the way I want them to get done… but it’s happening.”

Bobby Lashley had been gone from WWE for over ten years, but he certainly made the most of his time away from the company. Bobby became an experienced MMA fighter while also continuing his wrestling career with Impact Wrestling. Fans were delighted to see Lashley finally return to WWE on the Raw after WrestleMania last month, but a recent report on Reddit had claimed that former ECW Champion had already cut ties with the company. However, Ringside News has since confirmed that Lashley has not been released from WWE at all. In fact, Lashley is scheduled to team up with Braun Strowman for a tag team match against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WWE’s Backlash pay-per-view later tonight.
