Natural Element: Inge Christopher Zena Dark Wood Clutch

I know absolutely nothing about Inge Christopher. But when I saw the Inge Christopher Zena Dark Wood Clutch, I found myself stopping in my tracks. So, as you can imagine, I felt the need to see what this designer was all about. I did a little investigating and it turns out that Inge Christopher has been around since 1986! Strange that I haven’t heard of them before. Oh well. I suppose it is also interesting to note that the name comes from a combination of the founder’s names, Inge Hendromartono and Christopher Senn, and their signature piece is the beaded statement handbag. If that is true, then I guess this designer has been experimenting lately.

There isn’t a bead in sight where the Inge Christopher Zena Dark Wood Clutch is concerned. But, hey, that’s okay! I was not drawn to this piece by the promise of intricate bead work. What caught my eye was the use of smooth, dark wooden pieces to make up the body of this clutch. The pieces are separate and attached to a faux leather backing, allowing the flap closure to remain flexible. The wood look is gorgeous and it even looks a little exotic! This clutch definitely has a dressiness to it, but I also think it would pair nicely with a sundress for a more casual night out.
