Mulberry x Cara Delevingne Quilted Backpack

What can I say? I have never been a huge fan of designer backpacks. You know, backpacks that are too small and handbag-like to actually function as a real backpack. But they don’t really function as handbags either and, personally, I think they look a little silly. Yet, these designer backpacks have been popping up at lot lately. Micheal Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Gucci, Valentino, and even Balenciaga have tried their hand in the backpack trend. Today, however, I stumbled upon a backpack style that I feel like I could live with. Meet the Mulberry x Cara Delevingne Mini Quilted Backpack!

Designed in collaboration with designer Cara Delevingne, this backpack is different from most other styles I have seen. Why? The backpack straps are removable, meaning this bag doesn’t have to be worn as a backpack. It can also double as a satchel or a shoulder bag. Versatility is definitely key here! This bag can easily adapt to whatever the day brings. But I suppose the gorgeous quilting doesn’t hurt either. Plus it gives this piece a very classic look. Nevertheless, this is still a somewhat casual style. At least for me, it is. I see it pairing with a casual skirt or even skinny jeans.

The Mini Cara Delevingne Bag is a three-in-one style, uniting Mulberry’s English attitude to beautiful practicality and the inimitable personality of British model Cara Delevingne. Designed to take you anywhere, it can be worn on the back, shoulder or carried hand-held. The Mini version is perfect for the ‘hands-free’ devotees who need to travel light. The bags are made in England at Mulberry’s factories in Somerset and this is proudly stamped on the bottom of each bag, inspired by Cara’s own made in England tattoo on the sole of the foot.

Cara wanted each bag to be like opening a letter with a lovely surprising touch. Inside you can find a small lion rivet and a heart shaped patch based on Cara’s own heart tattoo. Cara said: “I want there to be hidden gems inside, based on things that are personal to me, which my tattoos definitely are.” Retails for $1590
