I remember about four or five years ago my Mom mentioned the name Michael Kors to me. She was craving to have one of his logo print shoulder bags for Christmas. No matter what store we went to, she had to pick it up and look at it. At the time, I was head over heels for Louis Vuitton. If a purse wasn’t by Louis Vuitton, I instantly hated it. Kind of immature of me, but I was 21 or so at the time. At that age, I thought the more expensive the purse the better! Thankfully, I’ve drastically changed.
My Father ended up getting my Mom the purse for Christmas and I remember telling her she was crazy for liking such an ugly bag. About a year later, I received a Michael Kors catalog in the mail that featured a black patent leather “Ranger” and a pair of Mary Janes. I instantly fell in love and my whole attitude changed about Michael Kors. My attitude changed so much that the only things I wanted for Christmas were the bag and those shoes! After that, I was hooked!
From that point on I was in a Michael Kors Lifestyle store at least once a month checking out his new merchandise. His shoes became an instant obsession, to the point I own over 50 pairs! From his watches, to his handbags, all the way to his clothes and his shoes I love Michael Kors and I’m proud to say he is my favorite designer in the world.
I’m sure it’s shocking to some that I went from loving Louis Vuitton to being absolutely obsessed with Michael Kors. I guess I saw Michael Kors as being more practical and definitely more affordable. Mr. Kors is also one of the designers that always has a black leather handbag that features gold hardware. As I’ve stated many times before, that is my favorite color combination for a handbag and he never disappoints. I know every time I go into a Michael Kors store, I will always see a least one piece with this combination.
Every time Michael Kors releases a new collection, there is always at least one piece I would die for. Most of the time, I don’t get it but it sure is amazing to dream about! Thank you Mr. Kors for always catching my eyes and making me drool with your gorgeous designs. For that, I am forever a fan.
