As confirmed by the English club, Chelsea have recalled left-sided player Kenedy (25) from loan at Brazilian club Flamengo.
After the serious injury to Ben Chilwell, the London side had looked to recall Lyon loanee defender Emerson as cover. However, without a recall option in the loan deal with OL, Chelsea had looked to offer compensation for his return. Lyon refused.
Now it looks as if Emerson will be retained for the rest of the season in France with the versatile left-sided man Kenedy likely to be used as Marcos Alonso’s cover with Chilwell injured.
