When you think of book-inspired clutches, what designer comes to mind? Did you answer Olympia Le-Tan? Yeah, I did too. While Olympia Le-Tan is probably the “Queen of Book Clutches”, she isn’t the only designer who has produced clutches resembling classic literature. Kate Spade has also produced several book-inspired clutches over the years. Are they as exquisite as the Olympia Le-Tan versions? Of course not! But they are certainly more affordable. This is definitely a bonus considering this is more of a novelty item. The trick is finding one that isn’t overly cheesy since the Kate Spade book clutches are not modeled after real books. That is why I like the Kate Spade Twinkle Twinkle Emanuelle Clutch!
This clutch is somewhat unique in that it is glossy in appearance. The pattern is actually printed on cotton twill, which was then coated in a high gloss plastic finish. I like the different constellations on both the front and back. The “Kate Spade Publishing New York, NY” adds a touch of authenticity. This clutch is finished with matching gold-tone hardware and a push-lock clasp. It would make a perfect novelty clutch for a fun night out on the town or other special occasion.
