IMPACT Wrestling and Rockstar Pro Wrestling joined together on March 2 to bring Opening Day live from Dayton. Ohio. The event streamed live on Twitch and delivered a top notch night of action.
MOOSE VS. JAKE CRIST
Moose brought the power game to Crist throughout this match, keeping the smaller man on the defense for the majority of the time. Moose was definitely a heel in front of the Dayton crowd and even though Jake battled back, he just could not get the job done.
WINNER: MOOSE

MADISON RAYNE AND SAMANTHA HEIGHTS VS. JESSICkA HAVOk AND NIVEA, THE KILLER DEATH MACHINES
This match came hot on the heels of Madison’s recent re-signing with Impact Wrestling. She and Heights had never tagged together before but they took the fight to Havok and Nivea. The match was hard fought from start to finish, with The KDM controlling much of the bout.
The end came when Havok hit a death defying Tombstone Piledriver from the second rope on Heights, who took the three count.

ACE AUSTIN VS. JT DUNN
Austin is one of the newest talents to sign with IMPACT and he faced a rising star in Dunn. The match began as expected, with chain wrestling featuring one counter after another.
The two men kept the match on the mat for the most part, telling the story from a vertical base with some high-impact moves thrown in for good measure. The high-flying did begin eventually, though both Austin and Dunn each continued to look good on the mat.
The tide turned after Austin dove over the top rope, powerbombing Dunn down onto the floor. Dunn made a short comeback after this, hitting a Tombstone on Austin onto the ring apron but he did not get the pin. Ace nailed Dunn with a dynamic running Blockbuster out of the corner to get the win.
WINNER: ACE AUSTIN

ACE ROMERO VS. BRIAN CAGE
This match was ready to begin until Clayton Gainz interrupted, cutting a promo in the middle of the ring. Gainz demanded that the match become a Triple Threat and that’s exactly what happened.
Gainz paid for his insulting words early on, thanks to Romero and Cage taking turns putting Clayton down on the mat. Soon the match became a one-on-one with Gainz outside the ring and Cage in a power battle with Romero int he ring.
Clayton found his way back in but the match continued to be Cage versus Romero, as Ace began to show some serious strength and agility. But it wasn’t long until Gainz took control of the bout. The three men kept fighting for control until Cage hit an F-5 on Gainz to get the pin.
WINNER: BRIAN CAGE

SAMI CALLIHAN VS. EDDIE EDWARDS, DAYTON STREET FIGHT
This was a grudge match, with Callihan and Edwards battling all over the building, using an assortment of weapons against each other. Trash cans, sheets of plywood, kendo sticks and even a mop, were used. The ring was littered with trash and weapons, as both men fought to come out on top.
Callihan even pulled a baseball out from under the ring and teased the infamous steel chair spot from last year, when he struck Edwards in the face. But this time Eddie blocked it and then suddenly snapped, turning on Callihan’s manager and even the referee.
But Sami came back thanks to a steel chair shot and a piledriver to get the victory.

JOHNNY IMPACT VS. LARRY D, IMPACT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Johnny entered into this match as a babyface but he was working hard for positive reactions, which he continued to do through the bulk of the bout. He gave up a lot of weight and power and Larry D used that to his full advantage.
The crowd continued to support Larry and Impact began showing signs of frustration around the midpoint of the match. Larry hit one big power move after another, leaving Johnny in a state of flux. But the longer the match went, the more that Impact began to get heat from the crowd and it played into his character along the way.
Larry D hit a powerbomb and a knockout punch, nearly getting a three-count on the champ but Impact kicked out at the last moment. Impact hit a quick comeback and nailed Larry with Starship Pain to pick up the win.
WINNER AND STILL IMPACT WORLD CHAMPION: JOHNNY IMPACT
