Grace Atelier De Lux has been around for a few years, but apparently I am just now discovering this designer. Founded in 2013, the Athens-based company incorporates Greek, Egyptian and Italian influences into its handmade designs. According to Shopbop, Grace Atelier De Lux is also known for balancing opposites such as traditional and modern or luxurious and raw. And when I look at the Grace Atelier De Lux Bohbo Hobo Bag, I can definitely see what they mean by that.
This lovely handbag features a classic hobo style with a slight twist – its crescent hobo shape is exaggerated by a deeply curved top line. It is certainly a distinct look! I love how it is complimented with boho-ish embellishments. Crossing over the top is a wide, magnetic strap with a woven leather center and whip-stitched edges. At the end are three leather tassels. The woven pattern is repeated on the shoulder strap and the tassels are accompanied by fringes raining down from the sides of the bag.
There is so much detail going on on this bag and, yet, it all just seems to come together somehow. When I look at this bag, I see a great piece that is casual enough for the weekends but not so over-the-top that it couldn’t tag along at the office. I just wouldn’t pair it with anything too stuffy, so it is probably better suited for a more casual work environment.
