Featured Designer: Alexander Wang

When I think of urban designs, I immediately think of Alexander Wang. When he was 18, he moved from San Francisco to New York to attend Parsons School of Design. By his sophomore year, he was already designing his very own line. Now he has an eponymous line, diffusion line, and he is also the creative director of Balenciaga. Not bad for someone who is only 30 years old! Many of his handbags are practically household names as well! Who doesn’t recognize the Rocco Duffel when they see it walking down the street or in a magazine?

There is no doubt that his edgy style and incredible eye for detail got him to where he is today. Personally, this is what I have always found appealing about Alexander Wang. I also like his emphasis on incorporating black into much of what he creates. His handbags, particularly the black ones, have this great rocker-chic vibe to them. But he isn’t afraid to play with color though! For this coming Spring season, he has quite a few pastel colored handbags in his collection.

Black or pastel, Alexander Wang is sure to be a show-shopper! Check out these styles below!

Alexander Wang Rocco Duffel. $925
As said above, the Rocco Duffel is probably his most recognizable style. What I love about this version is the use of rose gold hardware, rather than the typical gold or silver. It looks great against the black for a great updated look.

Alexander Wang Diego Bucket Bag. $950
Another classic Alexander Wang style! This one was made famous when several different celebrities were spotted carrying it. I love this new metallic version too! It offers a little different look while still maintaining that edge.

Alexander Wang Marion Cross Body Bag. $725
I wasn’t kidding when I said pastels! This crossbody bag looks gorgeous in mint green. The structured shape also sets this style somewhat apart from the rest. It has an edge, but in a totally different way!
