Le10Sport are reporting that English and Spanish sides are following AS Monaco academy goalkeeper Lisandru Olmeta (17), who won the Euro U17 championship with France this summer.
According to Le10Sport, Monaco are trying to convince Olmeta to stay at the club following his impressive performances this summer. He was the hero in the final of the Euro championship during the deciding penalty shoot-out.
The question is now whether he will continue his development with Monaco, and burst into the first team, or whether he will make a move abroad. Whilst Monaco would like him to stay and are ready to engage in talks to that effect, English and Spanish sides have an interest in the young Frenchman.
That interest has only intensified, and multiplied, since the summer, meaning that Monaco are being forced into action in order to retain their academy product. He isn’t the only young goalkeeper to break through at the club. Yann Liénard (19), another young academy goalkeeper has trained with the first team since the start of the season.
