Fringe is everywhere right now. I mean, everywhere! If you have been following the trend reports, it has been called the hot thing for the spring and summer season this year, and I for one am so excited for it. Not anything new, fringe has been around for a long time, coming and going every now and then. It’s one of my favorite not-so-trendy trends. What I enjoy most is seeing what designers do with fringe, creating their own individual take on the trend. That is why it was love at first sight when I laid eyes on the bag you see here, the BOYY Sylvester Stingray Fringe Bag!
This simple, envelope-style flap bag is a perfect example of the style I would associate with this designer. BOYY is known for mixing buttery soft leather with more exotic materials. In this case, the body and flap of this bag is made of smooth leather, which pairs quite nicely with the contrasting texture of the stingray used for the fringe. Stingray just looks so rich, but here it is like a double whammy of texture — stingray + fringe. Even more fun is the chain fringe mixed in with the stingray. I love the tiered look, plus the way the rows of fringe mirror the shape of the flap closure. I think this bag would pair nicely with a long floaty skirt, perfect for casual summer outings!
