Bobby Roode Bids Farewell to NXT, Mae Young Classic, Gallagher

Bobby Roode recently made his debut on Smackdown, which means that the time has come for him to say goodbye to the NXT brand. Roode had been the champion of the developmental brand for months before his main roster promotion. His last appearance on the television show saw him lose a match against Roderick Strong, but he had still been wrestling live events for NXT. After losing a match against Drew McIntyre and Andrade “Cien” Almas at a live event in St. Catharines, Ontario, Roode took the microphone to thank the fans for his NXT run. He is now expected to feud with Dolph Ziggler as a babyface on the Smackdown brand for a little while.

The Mae Young Classic has been a huge hit for the company and for women’s wrestling in general. The 32-woman tournament was eventually whittled down to Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler. The finale of the tournament is still set to commence this Tuesday night at 10pm ET on the WWE Network, following Smackdown. As such, WWE has announced that Charly Caruso will be hosting a 30-minute special on the tournament immediately after this Monday’s edition of Raw, and it will also feature a six-woman tag team match with unnamed participants from the tournament. The show is also going to be re-airing as a marathon leading up to Tuesday night’s finale.
One of the most unique and different superstars on WWE’s cruiserweight roster recently got married. It was revealed that “The Extraordinary Gentleman” Jack Gallagher tied the knot earlier this week with fellow British wrestler Clara Sinclare. The couple is currently honeymooning in France in celebration of their big day. Gallagher and Sinclare posted numerous photos from the wedding on their social media pages. Though a feud with Brian Kendrick on 205 Live required him to receive stitches, Gallagher noted that they were all hidden above his hairline. Gallagher and his wife are expected to return to Orlando very soon.
