It’s been rumored over the past couple of days that Bayley suffered a nasty shoulder injury that is going to keep her out of action for some time. Bayley’s status for SummerSlam was expected to be announced on tonight’s edition of Raw. Despite this, WWE announced before tonight’s show that Bayley has indeed separated her right shoulder, and she is now going to have to miss her match at SummerSlam. A medical evaluation has revealed that Bayley is physically unable to compete on the pay-per-view later on this month. WWE has since confirmed that Bayley will be on tonight’s Raw show to further address her injury and this situation.
WWE losing Bayley for a few weeks (or months) is definitely going to damage their plans for SummerSlam. It had been announced that she would be challenging Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship on the show, but she suffered the injury during a match against Nia Jax on last week’s episode of Raw. General Manager Kurt Angle has already announced that two triple threat matches will be taking place on Raw tonight. The winners of those matches will then square off against each other next week to determine the new #1 contender to Alexa’s championship. Check out the Raw show later on tonight for more details on how long Bayley will be gone, as well as who may take her place.
Unfortunately, that is not the only injury to happen to a Raw Superstar this past week. It is now being reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet that Scott Dawson is dealing with a bicep injury. It is being said that this could require surgery, and it could take anywhere from a few weeks to multiple months depending on the severity of the tear. The Revival was likely to be facing The Hardy Boyz at SummerSlam this year, but now that may be off the table. Dawson’s tag team partner Dash Wilder returned from a fractured jaw injury just recently. Hopefully, we should be finding out more about the potential injury as time goes on.
