The talk within WWE as it relates to The Shield is that plans for the future of the faction have changed. Originally they were just going to delay the breakup of the group due to the feeling that they were getting over strong as a baby face faction, however now it appears that a face turn for The Shield is not even being talked about for any time soon.
Originally, The Shield breakup was going to have already happened.
