CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Aero Amo capped his illustrious Augustana wrestling career with his second straight All-American performance at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Amo finished in seventh at 184 pounds after defeating Tony Vezzetti of Notre Dame College (Ohio). Amo defeated Vezzetti by a 7-0 decision. Amo finishes the 2017-18 season with a record of 17-4.
Amo had fallen in the consolation quarterfinals to Bradley Metz of Findlay. Metz defeated Amo by a 4-2 decision.
Amo finished his Augustana career with a record of 130-31 and is a two-time All-American (fifth at 184 in 2017). Amo will leave Augustana the 19th two-time All-American in school history. Amo will also rank in school history fourth in wins (130), third in dual wins (58) and tied for fifth in falls (46).
