When I was a kid, I remember going with my mom to craft shows. They were apparently very popular back then. The local shopping mall would host them all the time and craftspeople would rent a “booth” outside the stores, in the open spaces. I remember my mom buying me a wooden sign that said “BRS’s Room” on it. I was so pleased to hang it on my bedroom door. Events like these are very rare now, I really only see them at the county fair. Oddly enough though, the latest so-called trend in the world of handbags is this thing they call the “crafted” look. Hmm… correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this just look like boho-chic stuff? Check out the Antik Batik Aden Embroidered Tote, for example.
This tote is so colorful, yet not too bold either. I love it! The embroidered details are so cute and whimsical, complete with little mirror embellishments. The fabric reminds me of all the stuff you can find at my favorite free-trade store. The front of the bag is highlighted by a large, woven suede patch-like area. The ends of the suede strands hang free at the sides producing a nice sweep of fringe. The look is very interesting and unique. But if you ask me, it still looks Boho-chic to me! What ever you want to call this look though, there’s no arguing this is one cool looking bag. The color scheme is perfect for Fall too, simply pair it with some equally colorful pieces!
