“All Work No Play” makes jack a dull boy… Kate Spade
I get the quirky work-inspired ID tag design, however not sure if Kate Spade realized that when most Millennials see the phrase “All Work No Play” first thought that comes to mind is the famous 1980 horror flick The Shining, in which the main character, Jack, is found to have abandoned his latest novel in favor of typing this sentence over and over. What does it mean? The “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is a proverb. It means that without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring. So maybe Kate Spade did have that in mind when designing this Lanyard Wallet.
Would I wear this? Yes. I can imagine sporting this on the most basic days. You know, when you just want to go outside and grab a coffee, run some errands, or hang out on the beach and want to leave the full sized wallet at home. Nothing fancy about the design. It’s simple which is why I love it.
The Kate Spade Lanyard Wallet is dressed in a transparent vinyl with ‘All Play No Work’ lettering details the front of this leather card holder. Fits 3 cards only- which is perfect! The optional lanyard strap fastens with a lobster-claw clasp. Retails for $58
