When I saw this adorable little pouch, it instantly spoke to my inner child. How could it not though? The only time I might see a pouch shaped like a unicorn is if one were sitting in the window at the Claire’s store at my local mall. So how do I know that this is a grownup piece? Because this pouch is made of patent leather, not PVC. And if you look closely, you will see that it is actually covered in caviar beading. From a distance, the texture these beads create almost has a stingray-like look to it. I think what called to me the most about this piece was the cartoon-ish appearance of the unicorn. It reminds me of pencil sketches I have seen by Andy Warhol. The overall detail of this piece is actually quite impressive. Rather than a solid colored back, the back actually depicts the opposite side of the unicorn. And did you notice the tail? The tail is actually a tassel zipper pull. How cute is that? I picture this piece as part of a fun and even quirky ensemble for those occasions where you want to dress up a little, but you don’t want to look too serious.
