With no major news competition, Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite averaged 747, 000 viewers on TNT, up less than one percent from last week. The TakeOver: Vengeance Day fallout edition of WWE NXT averaged 713,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 27.8 percent from last week.
Dynamite drew a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 6.9 percent from last Wednesday. Dynamite finished fourth on cable in that category.
NXT was up 33.3 percent in the 18-49 demo, drawing a 0.16 rating. After falling outside of the top 50 the last several weeks, NXT finished 39th for the night on cable in the demo.
The numbers were very close to three weeks ago. The main event of that week’s NXT was Finn Balor & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch. This week had Roderick Strong and Pete Dunne added to those respective teams.
Dynamite won every demo category with the exception of people over 50, where NXT had a big advantage of 0.40 to 0.25. In the other demos, Dynamite doubled and even tripled NXT in some cases.
As compared to the same week last year, Dynamite had the exact same 18-49 rating but was down 16.4 percent in overall viewers. NXT was only down 10.2 percent in viewers but down 36 percent in the demo. What this means is that Dynamite is skewing far younger than a year ago and NXT is the exact opposite.
Here’s a look at the last 10 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo numbers for both shows:
