I have taken a liking to Charlotte Olympia lately. I will see one piece from this designer and write about it, only to turn around and see another equally blog-worthy piece. I am not sure what it is that draws me in. I suppose I just like the quirkiness of these pieces. They are unusual and something different to write about. So it comes as no surprise that I have stumbled upon yet another piece from this designer and instantly fell in love. Introducing the Charlotte Olympia Pandora Paradise Cage Clutch!
Like other Pandora Clutches, this little box clutch features two halves that are hinged together and an interior that opens to reveal the usual removable zippered pouch. This particular version, however, features a polished wood exterior. The finish is dark and the grain is very subtle, so I’m not sure what type of wood it is. Perhaps it is an exotic wood species? What sets this clutch apart though is the closure that sits on top. The adornment is a large wire ball that resembles the bars on a birdcage. Inside the ball is a cute little parrot. It is definitely unique, yet it isn’t something that is immediately obvious. This would certainly make a fun summer piece, perfect for accompanying guest attire to a casual beach wedding.
