Big Cass, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, Asuka, & R-Truth Join Smackdown

The Superstar Shakeup continued during Smackdown last night. A large number of WWE performers who previously worked on Monday Night Raw will now be competing every Tuesday night. Here are a few of the names who have made the jump to Smackdown:
Big Cass returned on Smackdown after missing several months of action due to an injury. He confronted Daniel Bryan backstage before attacking him later during the show.

Another superstar who returned during Smackdown last night was R-Truth. After his tag team with Goldust came to an end last year, R-Truth also had to go away for a while due to an injury, but he will be competing on Smackdown going forward.

Asuka has also joined the Smackdown roster permanently. “The Empress of Tomorrow” had been making several appearances on the show during her feud with Charlotte Flair before WrestleMania, but it looks like the formerly undefeated wrestler will now work exclusively on Smackdown. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch were attacked by Carmella and The IIconics during last night’s edition of Smackdown, but the two former Smackdown Women’s Champions were saved when Asuka suddenly ran down to the ring to help even the odds. It seems that Flair and Asuka have put their hard-fought WrestleMania match behind them as they and Lynch all stood in the ring together triumphantly upon Asuka’s official Smackdown arrival.

It had been reported before last night’s Smackdown show started that brand new United States Champion Jeff Hardy was backstage for the show. This seemed to indicate that Hardy would be moving to Smackdown with the US title. Sure enough, Jeff Hardy is now an official member of the Smackdown roster and will be competing for the brand from now on.

Finally, Samoa Joe was also traded to Smackdown as part of the Superstar Shakeup. Joe made a statement immediately by defeating Sin Cara in a quick and decisive fashion during last night’s show. After the match, Joe got on the microphone and still promised to defeat Raw’s Roman Reigns at the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view.
