MSU-Moorhead Signs NJCAA All-American Austin Warren

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling coach Kris Nelson has announced that Austin Warren of Newburgh, Ind., has signed a national letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at MSUM starting this fall.

“Austin has had a successful career at the junior-college level and I see him being very competitive in the NSIC and NCAA Division II level at the 184-pound weight class,” Nelson said. “Our coaching staff is very happy to add Austin to our program and we look forward to working with him the next two years.”

Warren spent last season at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kan., where he earned NJCAA All-American honors at 184 pounds after finishing fifth at the national meet. Prior to that Warren wrestled at Rend Lake College where he was a national qualifier at 184 pounds.

During his high school career at Castle High School, Warren posted a record of 77-12 and was a state qualifier. He was the team’s MVP as a senior.

Warren is the 12th member of the 2015-16 MSUM wrestling recruiting class.
