WWE Adds US Title Match to Crown Jewel Card

WWE is certainly scrambling to make the Crown Jewel pay-per-view show in Riyadh on Friday a success, despite the prevailing sentiment among fans, the media and even some politicians that the promotion should not go to Saudi Arabia. In that vein, WWE.com announced a US Title match in which champion Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his belt against Rusev.
Apparently, the WWE is so desperate to make up for some of the lost star power with John Cena and Daniel Bryan refusing to work the show that they have booked a title match with no build up going into it. Nakamura defeated R-Truth in his last match Tuesday on SmackDown, while Rusev wasn’t even on WWE’s blue brand TV show this week. The WWE Crown Jewel Kickoff show from Saudi Arabia streams live on WWE Network on Friday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. ET/ 8 a.m. PT.
