Take a look at what I have pictured here. What do you see? Well, when I was younger (i.e. high school age), this piece would be referred to as a cigarette case. However, in what seems like a relatively short period of time, this type of accessory has been given an image makeover. After all, it is much less socially acceptable to smoke now. Laws that prohibit smoking in public places, restaurants, and bars have become commonplace. Personally, I never liked smoking. It was simply something I didn’t do. Yet, I still recognize this piece as being an accessory for holding a pack of cigarettes and lighter.
Even though smoking is much less popular now, doesn’t mean this style needs to be completely scraped. Instead, many designers have decided to repurpose it. Now, they are called phone or technology pouches. Funny how things change, isn’t it? What I like about the Alice + Olivia Lizard Phone Pouch though is the fact that it comes with its own portable iPhone charger. I also love the pink lizard-embossed leather! It makes this piece stand out better inside a dark handbag full of all your stuff! However, it could definitely be used to hold your bare essentials for when you are on the go.
