Brock Lesnar has been given a “temporary suspension” by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his drug-test failures surrounding UFC 200, reports MMAFighting.com.
This is Step 1 in determining Lesnar’s punishment for twice being flagged for use of anti-estrogen drug hydroxy-clomiphene.
Lesnar was drug-tested eight times before he won his UFC 200 return fight against Mark Hunt on July 9. The testing results were revealed after the fight, which saw Lesnar flagged for use of the banned substance on June 28 and also on the day of the fight.
The next step is Lesnar receiving a formal hearing at a later date to present his defense in hopes of reducing a potential two-year suspension.
Lesnar said at a” WWE 2K17″ event over the weekend that he understands he has a “bumpy road ahead” to fight again in UFC, but he’s hopeful to get back in the octagon.
Lesnar completed his Summerslam duties facing Randy Orton in the PPV main event and was subsequently written off TV Monday night on Raw to take a leave of absence.
