In This Year’s First ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi Lauds Women’s Achievements, Remembers Kalpana Chawla

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first address to the nation in his radio show ‘Mann ki baat’ highlighted achievements of Indian women across the globe. He began his address by remembering and paying tribute to NASA as astronaut late Kalpana Chawla and shared the inspiring stories of women First Ladies Achievement Award by the Women and Child Development Ministry recently.

“I am grateful to Prakash Tripathi who in his letter to me spoke about Kalpana Chawla whose death anniversary is on February 1, she has inspired a lot of people,” he said. Here’s what else he said during his talk:

1) Remembered Mahatma Gandhi

The radio programme, that was broadcast on the All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan along with other social media handles of the Prime Minister, and the Narendra Modi app spoke about many other things such as on 30th January we observe the Punya Tithi (death anniversary) of Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi). Peace and non-violence is what Bapu taught us. His ideals are extremely relevant today.
